In April of 1995, Alaska Down South was opened at 1150 West Hwy. 76 "Country Music Boulevard" in Branson, Missouri. Our goal was to bring to Mid-America unique art and decor from our last frontier state, ALASKA.
Since our opening in 1995, we have doubled in size and now include unique art and decor from the Northern USA, Canada and Africa. In 1998, we started carrying unique art and decor from Africa. The majority of our items are all hand crafted and one-of-a-kind works of art.
My wife Rhonda and I wanted to change our vocation to something less stressful and move to an area of the USA which had more of the things we were looking for.
My brother and his wife's store in Anchorage, AK gave us a beginning selection of Alaskan Art and Decor to bring Down South. Over time we realized most of our customers enjoyed unique wildlife art and decor from different geographical locations.
